We wish to see this site blossom & grow, and will continue to strive in bringing you new & updated material. If you would like to help this site grow, please consider contributing any information you may have on the families of Llano County, their history or their photos; as well as any other relative County data. No data is too small to be of value to a genealogist. We welcome your contributions.

Llano County is a part of the TXGenWeb Project, which in turn is a part of the USGenWeb Project. It was formed in 1856. It is most often referred to as "The Land of Legend and Lure" or "The Whitetail Deer Capitol of Texas" - referred to by these names because of its abundant wildlife, natural beauty, and "wild west" style of history. The county is rich in natural minerals, especially granite; of which the Llano County Courthouse is constructed. The county once mostly known for its ranching is now also known for its hunting, fishing and other recreations. However historically, Llano County is probably remembered most for the Packsaddle Mountain Indian Fight in 1873. Llano County is one filled with numerous registered historical places to visit, things to do, and annual events to attend. So come on by, visit us, but please remember to leave deer.gifthe county as pristine as you found it so the next generation will have it to enjoy also!

The towns in Llano County include Llano, Castell, Kingsland, Buchanan Dam, Tow, Baby Head, Bluffton, Valley Springs, Sunrise Beach, Deer Haven, Blue Lake, Horseshoe Bay and Lone Grove.

Surrounding counties of Llano are: Gillespie, Mason, San Saba, Burnet, and Blanco.
