Prado about 1895. John died April 20, 1942 in Houston, TX and is
buried in Palacios Cemetery (Matagorda County). Josephine Prado
Roach was born about 1880, possibly in
Cotulla,
TX (La Salle County). Josephine died after 1912 and before 1919 and
is said to be buried in
Cotulla,
TX. John Roach married Mrs. Nannie E. Clark on July 9, 1919 in
Palacios, Texas.

Toni S. Roach
Funeral services for Toni S. Roach, 79, of South
Houston, were held June 16 at 2 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic
Church with Rev. Rod Guierrmo officiating. Interment followed at
Palacios Cemetery. A rosary was recited June 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the
Palacios Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Roach was born July 20, 1907 in Victoria,
the daughter of Justo and Mary Fuentes Samarippa [Zamarippa]. She
died June 14, 1987 at Methodist Hospital in Houston.
A former resident of Palacios for 45 years, Mrs.
Roach had been living in South Houston for the past 15 years.
Survivors include her husband, Walter P. Roach of
South Houston; six daughters and sons-in-law, Dalores and Jim
Holloway of Spring, Jo Ann and John Preston of Houston, Josephine
and John Schoenherr of Victoria, Dorothy and Jack Ogden of Houston,
Vera and George Munro of Clute and Billie and William Vest of Miami,
FL; one son and daughter-in-law, Freddie and Bobbie Jean Roach of
Houston; three sisters, Abelia Gill of Houston, Stella Sausada and
Beatrice Vargas, both of Victoria; one brother, Elmo Trevino of
Victoria; 26 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Walter
Roach, on Jan. 30, 1980.
Pallbearers were Craig Ward, Chris Holloway,
Kevin Ogden, Joey Munro, Sean Sell and Mike Roach. Honorary
pallbearers were Freddy Roach, Jr., Matt Sell and Chris Cowden.

February 18, 2001
in Houston, Texas. Freddie was born January 9, 1931 in Palacios,
Texas and served in the U.S. Navy. He is a retired barber and was
recently employed b Trails of Woodlake. He is survived by his wife
Bobby Jean; sons Fred and Michael; daughters, Cathy, Gina and Angie;
sisters Dolores, Joann, Josephine, Dorothy, Vera and Billie, and 8
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and
Toni and brother Walter. Funeral services will be Thursday
February 22, 2001,

PALACIOS [Matagorda County, Texas] -- John P.
Roach, 95, of Palacios, died Friday, March 1, 2002.
He was born April 13, 1906, in Palacios, to the late John and
Josephine Prado Roach. He was a retired grocery Clerk and a member
of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
Survivors: wife, Helen Smith Roach; daughter, Mary Jean Jones of
Houston; son, Tom Roach of Houston; sister, Josephine R. Gonzales of
Lake Jackson; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: sisters, Louise Frazier, Margaret Balderes and
Dorothy Ottino; brothers, Ben Roach, Walter Roach and Ralph Roach;
and parents.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Palacios Funeral
Home chapel. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home
chapel.
Burial will be at Palacios Cemetery. Palacios Funeral Home,

Funeral services Josephine O. Gonzales, 82, of Palacios, Tx.
were March 26, 2009 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with
Rev. Charles Domowoh officiating. Interment was at Palacios
Cemetery.
Mrs. Gonzales was born April 12, 1926 in Freeport, TX to the
late John J. and Dorothy Roach Ottino. She passed away March
21, 2009.
She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Palacios
Senior Center, Catholic Daughters and active in the Palacios
VFW Queen-Hamlin Post 2467.
She is survived by daughters Stella Dorsett and husband Ron,
Linda Garcia and husband Jesse, and Rosemary Gonzales, all
of Houston; son Augustine Gonzales, Jr. and wife Yvette of
Houston; sister Margie Acosta of Bay City; grandchildren
Erik Gonzales, Jessica Garcia, Leslie Garcia and Jordan
Garcia; niece Dee Ann Schwan and husband Alex; and great
niece Devin Schwan.
She was preceded in death by her husband Augustine Gonzales,
son John Anthony Gonzales, brother J. V. Ottino and
brother-in-law John Gilbert Acosta.

John "Jay'" V. Ottino, age 70 of ElCampo, passed
away on March 2, 2001 in Wharton.
He was born on November 16, 1930 in Palacios to the late John R. and
Dorothy Roach Ottino. He retired in 1996 from Rice Belt Warehouse in
Bay City where he served as manager for 33 years.
He served in the U.S. Marines as a SGT. during the Korean Conflict
and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a member of the St. Philip's
Catholic Church, having served as Post Commander for several years,
the American Legion, VFW, DAV, Elk's Lodge and was past Grand Knight
of the Blessing Knight's of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ottino of El Campo, daughter Debbie
and husband Joe Kovasovic, III of East Bernard, grandson J.K.
Kovasovic IV of East Bernard, sisters Margie Acosta of Bay City and
Josephine Gonzales of Palacios [Matagorda County, Texas].
Funeral services will be held at 5 PM on Sunday at the Triska
Funeral Home with Deacon Jarrel Nohavitza officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Monday at the Houston
National Cemetery under the direction of the Triska Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Edmund Weinheimer, Jr., Steven Weinheimer, Ed
Weinheimer, III, D.O. Armstrong, Cecil Anderson, Tom Martin and Joe
Kovasovic III.
Memorials in memory of John Ottino may be given the El Campo Elk's

Texas] - Margaret Roach Sanchez, 86, of Palacios, passed away
Monday, Feb. 4, 2008. She was born March 27, 1921, in Palacios, to
the late Janie Longoria Roach and Ben Roach Sr. Mrs. Sanchez was a
life long resident of Palacios and a member of St. Anthony's
Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Hope Terrasas and husband Victor of
Palacios; two sons, Lucio Sanchez Jr. and wife Lucy of Houston and
Robert Sanchez of Palacios; sister, Gloria Salazar of Palacios;
brother, Ben Roach Jr. of Palacios; eight grandchildren; and 14
great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sanchez was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lucio
Sanchez Sr.; and son, Edward Ray Sanchez.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.,

Mary Helen Roach, 86, passed away
Sunday,
November 4, 2007. She was born
August 5, 1921 in Palacios to Mae Taylor and Claude Smith. Her life
was being a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and
friend. She married John P. Roach on April 5, 1937, and together
they had two children: Mary Jean Jones and John Thomas Roach. Mrs.
Roach was a life long resident of Palacios and has lived the past 6
years in Houston, TX. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic
Church and of the Catholic Daughters in Palacios.
She is survived by her daughter: Mary Jean
Jones and her son: John Thomas Roach, both of Houston; by 16
grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great
grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law: Joyce Taylor and Jody Gonzales, as
well as numerous nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by
her husband: John P. Roach, her parents: Mae Taylor and Claude
Smith, 2 brothers: Tom Smith and Bobby Taylor, son-in-law: Joe M.
Jones and grandson: Tyler Roach.
We will love and miss you everyday Mama.
