Pfc. Rafael Rodriguez--Killed in action on Luzon in the Philippines January 29, 1945. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Guadalupe Rodriguez. His father is in the Power House Department of Texas Gulf Sulphur Company with which firm he has been continuously employed since June 8, 1925.

Reburial rites will be held for Pfc. Rafael Rodriguez at the Latin American Catholic Church here Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock. Father Murphy will officiate. Interment will be in Cedarvale Cemetery under the direction of Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.

Pfc. Rodriquez was killed in action in the Luzon invasion in the Philippines, January 29, 1945. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Guadalupe Rodriquez; two sisters, Olka and Gloria and four brothers, Rogelio, Rodolfo, Jesus, Celso of Newgulf.

Former City Resident Dies

Rites for a former Matagorda County resident, Guadalupe Rodriguez, 69, were held at 8 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with burial scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday at Cedarvale Cemetery.

Rodriguez, a retired Texas Gulf Sulphur employee, had worked at the Old Gulf plant near Matagorda before moving to Newgulf and employment there. He resided in Corpus Christi at the time of his death early Sunday morning.

Funeral arrangements locally were under the auspices of Taylor Brothers Funeral Home.

Survivors are the widow, of Corpus Christi; two daughters, Olga of Campton, Calif. and Gloria of Corpus; three sons, Rudolph of Freeport, Rogelio of California and Celso of Austin; one sister, Mrs. Petria Garcia of Mexico; four brothers, Jose of Wharton, Celso of Palacios, Raymond and Solomon of Mexico.
