PURPOSE
 

The Matagorda County Genealogical Society is a non-profit, educational organization in the Matagorda County, Texas, geographical area devoted to the collection and dissemination of factual genealogical data and to raising the standards of genealogical research. Through regular monthly meetings the Society brings together those persons actively interested or engaged in genealogical research, who desire either to develop or expand their technical abilities and knowledge in this field. The Society publishes and gathers genealogical material for interested citizens and assists the Bay City Public Library in acquisition of genealogical and historical material.

The membership is September 1 to August 31 and annual dues are as follows:

PUBLICATIONS

The Society journal, Oak Leaves, is included in all memberships and is published in February and August. Single issues of the journal may be purchased. The Society has other publications that are available for purchase by members and the public.

BEGINNING WITH THE FEBRUARY, 2012 ISSUE, MEMBERS WILL NOT RECEIVE A PRINTED COPY OF OAK LEAVES, BUT A DIGITAL PDF FILE MAILED TO THEIR EMAIL ADDRESSES. MEMBERS WHO WISH TO STILL RECEIVE A PRINTED COPY WILL BE ASKED TO PAY $10 ABOVE THEIR DUES TO OFFSET PRINTING AND MAILING COSTS.
