State of Texas - County of Matagorda I, Felix Flores, aged 40 years, occupation fisherman, do declare on oath that my personal description is: Color - white, complexion - dark, height 5 ft 5 inches, weight 140 pounds, color of hair - black, color of eyes - brown. I was born in Matamoras, Mexico on the 12th day of July 1879. I now reside at Palacios, Texas. I emigrated to the United States of America from Matamoras, Mexico on the vessel River Ferry [possibly a river ferry crossing the Rio Grande rather than a ship with that name]; my last foreign residence was Matamoras, Mexico. I am married; the name of my wife is Juna Flores; she was born in Brownsville, Texas and now resides in Palacios, Texas. It is my bona fide intention to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty and particularly to the United States of Mexico of whom I am now a subject; I arrived at the port of Brownsville, in the state of Texas on or about the 12th day of July, 1880. I am not an anarchist. I am not a polygamist nor a believer in the practice of polygamy; and it is my intention in good faith to become a citizen of the United States of America and permanently reside therein; so help me God.
