17, 2011, at Matagorda Regional Medical Center due to lung cancer.
Randi was born July 7, 1964, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a
well-known mechanic for a number of years.

PLEDGER [Matagorda County, Texas] - Bergman L. Galloway, 89, of
Pledger, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003.
He was born March 21, 1914, in Livingston, to the late Moode and
Mamie Thomas Galloway. He was charter member of First Baptist Church
of Pledger and was a former pastor of Trinity Baptist Church of Old
Ocean and First Baptist Church of Matagorda. He worked for Dural
Sulphur, J.S. Abercrombie, Jefferson Lake Sulphur, Bay City ISD, and
Matagorda County Drainage.
Survivors: daughter, Billie White of Alvin; three grandchildren; and
nine great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: wife, Louise Galloway; sisters, Lily, Edna,
Clara, Joyce, Buna, Cleo, and Mazelle; and brother, Gordie Galloway.
The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. today at Taylor Bros.
Funeral Home chapel.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel.

Louise Galloway, 86, of Pledger died August 22, 2001 at Matagorda
General Hospital in Bay City. She was born October 30, 1914 in
Westfield, Texas, to the late Sandor Alexander and Bertha Dozpoly
Horvath. Mrs. Galloway was a member of the First Baptist Church of
Pledger and a life-long resident of Pledger.
Survivors include: husband, Bergman L. Galloway of Pledger; daughter
and son-in-law Billie and O’Neal White of Alvin; sister, Bertha
“Avie” Brown of Houston, 3 grandchildren, Norman White and wife
Nancy of Alvin, Laurie Windler and husband Cary of Bossier City, LA
and Mary Stilwell and husband Daren of Alvin; 9 great-grandchildren,
Tiffany, Taylor, Nikki, David, Kenny, Caleb, Haley, Jared, and

Angelita Galvan, 92, of Blessing passed away May 18, 2011. She was
born June 7, 1918 in Victoria to the late Martin Vasquez and
Francisca Garza Vasquez.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Galvan; sons,
Francisco and Johnny Galvan; sister, Ramona Rodriguez; and brother,
Samuel Vasquez.
Survivors include her daughters, Rita Castro of Florida, Maria
Castillo of California, Regina Sanchez of Bakersfield, Calif., and
Helaria Longoria of Houston; sons, Candelario Galvan of Blessing,
Ramon Galvan Jr. of Lamont, Calif., Macky Galvan of Houston, and
Jimmy Galvan of Blessing; sisters, Ofelia Rodriguez, Rosario
Vasquez, Felipa Calderon and Rita Guerra; brother, Lupe Vasquez; 37
grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Catherine Dollery Gamble, 89, of Edna, passed away Sunday, May 22,
2011, in Bay City. She was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Edna, to the late
Samuel Washington and Frances Cleveland Quinn Dollery. She was a
certified nurse.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte (LC) Cooksey of
Mansfield; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Boyd Gamble; son,
Larry Vibrock; and brother, Charlie Dollery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Slavik Funeral
Chapel.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Slavik

Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City.
She was born October 23, 1917 in Slidell, LA to the late T.F. and

Church and a resident of Bay City since 1960.

BAY CITY - Cristina "Tina" Garcia went to be
with her Lord on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011. She
was born on March 3, 1931 in Cuero to the late
Benito Muniz and Gregoria Rodriguez Muniz. She
loved cooking for her family and friends. She
had a very giving and caring heart. She will be
missed dearly by all.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55
years Ruben Garcia; children, Ana Garcia Pena
and husband Daniel, Mary Gonzales and husband
Joe, Ruben Garcia Jr. and wife Amy, David Garcia
and partner Dennis Cannon; grandchildren,
Leticia Acosta, Teresa Gonzales, Gregory

Garcia, Sr., 89, went to be with his Lord on

Louisa Barboza Garcia. Ezequiel was a truck
driver retiring from the Milchem Company. He was
an avid lover of cats, especially his beloved
BooBoo.

Florentino R. Garcia, Sr. of Houston, Texas died Saturday,
May 20, 2000. He was born Oct. 26, 1922 in Mexico to
Natividad and Lucia Rodriguez Garcia. Florentino was a long
time resident of Bay City until Jan. 1972 when he moved to
Houston. He was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church
of Houston.
He is survived by: his wife, Mary Lou Garcia of Houston;
daughters, Silvia Castaneda of Bay City, Ophelia G.
Rodriguez of Houston, Lucy Dingas of Katy, and Linda Gagnon
of Jacksonville, Fla.; sons, Natividad Garcia and Raymond
Garcia both of Houston; sisters, Catalina Yanez, Cipriana
Chavez, Teodora Castillo and Lesara Suarez all of Mexico; 22
grandchildren; six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces
and nephews.

Ignacio P. “Nicho” Garcia peacefully went with the lord
surrounded by the love of his family on Monday May 30, 2011.
He leaves behind his wife of 63 years and a legacy of love,
loyalty and hard work.
He was born February 1, 1924, in Cuero, Texas, and was the
youngest and last of 12 children born to Francisco and
Felipa Partida to leave this world.
He is survived by: his wife, Mary; their children, Mary
Helen (Raynaldo) Gutierrez of Sweeny, Fransisco (Gloria)
Garcia of Markham, Josephine Rodriguez of Markham, Lee Roy
Garcia of Fort Worth, Rose (Bernardo) Gonzalez of West
Columbia, Larry (Lucille) Garcia of Lake Jackson; along with
18 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was a backhoe operator. He enjoyed fishing and dancing.
He also enjoyed spending quality time with his family.
Family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m. on
Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria.

Raul G. Garcia, 73, went to be
with his Lord on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 in Bay City.
Raul was born on July 23, 1938 in Beeville, TX to the late
Ramon “Chito” & Estefanita Guerrero Garcia. Raul and his
wife Amelia owned and operated the Garcia Café Restaurant.
Raul was a loving father, grandfather, and great
grandfather. Raul was an avid gardener, supplying his family
with fresh vegetables.

at Matagorda General Hospital. He was born March 15, 1913 in
Cuero, Texas to the late Francisco and Felipa Partida

Catholic Church and a resident of Bay City for the past 60
years.

Shelby Jean Garner, (74), of Houston, Tex.,
passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011, in Sugar
Land, Tex., after a courageous and hard-fought
battle with cancer.
She was born September 16, 1936, in Delhi, La.,
to the late Warren Monroe Andrews and Avis
Victoria Pitmon Andrews (Sykes).
Jean is survived by her loving and devoted
husband of more than 50 years: Marcie Clark
Garner; son, Richard Monroe and wife, Catherine;
son, Marcie Clark, Jr. and wife, JoAnn;
daughter, Judith Lynn Lebel and husband, Bobby;
sister, Marian Elizabeth Wilson; brother, Johnny

Mary L. Garrison, 93, of Ganado, died March 9, 2000 at Care
Inn Nursing Home in Ganado. She was born Jan. 28, 1907 in
Schulenburg to the late Frank John and Amalie Orsak Sedlacek.
Mrs. Garrison was a resident of Ganado the past 9 years and
a former longtime resident of Bay City. She was a member of
the Holy Cross Catholic Church, KJZT No. 100, Our Lady of
Snow and the Legion of Mary. For many years she was a
seamstress and cashier at Rosenswigs of Bay City.
Survivors include: sister and brother-in-law, Lillie and
Arnold Bothe of Gonado; three nieces, Grace Marie McDonald
of Tulsa, Ok., Barbara Ann Steen of Conroe, and Mary Ellen
Story of Mt. Vernon, Texas; and three nephews, Freddie Foeh
of Hawkins, Bobby Bothe of Ganado; and John Sovinski of
Houston.
She was preceded in death by: her husband's William Henry
Hatchett and John Hardeman Garrison; two sisters, Emma Foeh

Triumph Hospital in Sugar Land. She was born Aug. 8, 1925 in

BLESSING - Donald Guy Glaze, 85, of Blessing, passed away at
his residence Friday, Feb. 18, 2011. He was born in Louise,
June 12, 1925, to the late Guy and Gertrude Thomas Glaze.
Donald served in the
U.S. Marine Corps during
World War II. For the majority of his life he was a rice
farmer and rancher. He was always an avid hunter, steer
roper, gardener, and guitarist. In his later years he also
took an interest in playing bingo and the Texas Lottery.
Donald was a loving husband, daddy, and papa. He will be
missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Gresham Glaze of
Blessing; son, Roy and wife Susie Glaze of Cedar Park;
daughters, Donna and husband Larry Kalich of Gregory, Mona
and husband Scott Stewart of El Maton, Diane and husband
Charles Peterson of Cuero; sister, Iris and husband Gene
Isaacson of Louise; 10 grandchildren, Bonnie, Kristie,
Kevin, Bubba, Ross, Reba, Jeff, Mandi, Chuck and Russell; 12
great-grandchildren, Ryan, Meagan, Gage, Gavin, Gunnar,

Mr. Glaze was preceded in death by his parents and sisters,

Evelyn Marie Gresham Glaze, 83, of Blessing, passed away
Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, reuniting with her beloved husband
of 65 years, Donald Glaze. She was born in Louise on Dec.
28, 1927, to the late T. Frank and Jessie Besch Gresham.
Evelyn graduated from Louise High School and then graduated
from beauty college in Houston. She worked as a hairdresser
until "the love of her life", Donald Glaze, returned home
after serving his country as a U.S. Marine. They were
married on June 12, 1946 until Donald's death in February
2011. Evelyn and Donald raised four children. She was a
loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, with
an ever loving smile. Evelyn was a member of the First
Baptist Church of Blessing.
Evelyn's interests included crocheting, quilting, sewing,
and bingo. She also enjoyed her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren to whom she will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her son, Roy and his wife Susie Glaze of
Cedar Park; daughters, Donna and husband Larry Kalich of
Gregory, Mona and husband Scott Stewart of El Maton, Diane
and husband Charles Peterson of Cuero; 10 grandchildren,
Bonnie, Kristie, Kevin, Bubba Ross, Reba, Jeff, Mandi, Chuck
and Russell; and 12 great-grandchildren, Lauren, Mason,
Kendal, Nathan, Caiden, Zoey, Connor, Ryan, Megan, Gavin,
Gage, and Gunnar.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald

She was born Aug. 9, 1940, in El Maton to the late David
Castillo and Susana Anguiano Castillo. Mrs. Gomez was a

Rosa, California, where she had been a resident of the
Oakmont Gardens Retirement Community since 1998.
Born in Comer, Georgia to Fay Davis and John David Thompson,
on Oct. 15, 1911, she had lived in Texas-prior to her move
to California-since her marriage to Russell Eldridge Graham
in 1935.
She and her husband moved to Bay City, Texas in 1940, and
she made her home there for 58 years.
In Bay City, Mrs. Graham had been a member of the First
Baptist Church since 1940, teaching the Fedelis Class for 30
years, and serving as the pianist in the Adult Department of
the church and in many other church capacities.
She was a Charter Member of the Bay City Pink Ladies
Hospital Auxiliary and of the Bay City Study Club, and a
long time member of the Chautauqua Club and the Bay City
Book Club.
She was an accomplished book reviewer in Bay City and in the
surrounding communities.
Immediately prior to her death, Mrs. Graham had provided
book reviews to a number of organizations in Santa Rosa and
Greenbrae.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981, and is
survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Graham and
Herbert Kreissler of Greenbrae, California, and a son and
daughter-in-law, David Eldridge and Lynn Graham, of
Alexandria, Virginia.
All who knew Mrs. Graham agreed that she was a "true Georgia
Peach."
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service
at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec 14 at Tiburon Baptist Church, 445
Greenwood Beach Road in Tiburon, California.
A private graveside service will be held in Bay City,
conducted by Dr. W. D. Baker, her pastor of over 25 years.
Burial will be in Cedarvale Cemetery.
A special fund in memory of Eleanor Thompson Graham has been

Ruth C. Graham, 76, of Bay City, passed away Monday, Oct.
30, 2000, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Ruth was born on Oct. 30, 1924 in Bay City to parents Elic
Troupe and Susan Arminda Lynn Catchings.
Ruth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints in Bay City and was a Girl Scout leader
and a Red Cross swim instructor for many years in Bay City.
She is survived by: husband, E. S. "Shep" Graham of Bay
City; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Johnny French of
Lake Jackson, Gina and Garlan Hinman of Bay City; sisters,
Bobbie Lettieri of Florida, Vera Warren of Georgia, and
Nancy Spicer of Missouri; grandchildren, Jana and Spencer
Gibson of College Station and PFC Jon-Michael Graham French
of Ft. Riley, Kan.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Shepherd Graham,
and by sisters, Bernice Badgett and Iris Royster.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000 at
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saintes in Bay
City, with Bishop Brent Ethington and Dr. Joseph Cannon
officiating.
Burial will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.

from 6 until 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Ted F. Grantham 57, of Sugar Land, Texas died July 11, 2001
at
Southwest Memorial Hospital in Houston. He was born May 11,
1944 in Wilmington, N. C. to Elwin E. and Marion Fryar
Grantham. Mr. Grantham was a member of the Baptist Church, a
resident of Sugar Land the past 21 years and was a former
resident of Wilmington, N. C. and Jacksonville, Florida.
Survivors include: wife, Lynda Grantham of Sugar Land;
daughter, Catherine Elizabeth Grantham of Sugar Land;
beloved mother, Marion Grantham of Jacksonville, Fla.,
brother, Steve Grantham of Jacksonville, Fla. He was
preceded in death by his father Elwin E. Grantham.

BAY CITY [Matagorda County, Texas] - Thomas France "Gunny"
Graves, 68, of Bay City, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004.
He was born March 7, 1935, in Long Beach, Calif., to the
late Thomas and Doris Shockley Graves. He retired from the
U.S. Marine Corps after 20 years of service and served in
the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a life member of
the Philip H. Parker VFW Post No. 2438 and a Catholic.
Survivors: daughters, Catherine Tharp of Bay City, Jennifer
Forster of Lake El Sinore, Calif. and Deborah Graves of San
Francisco; sons, Thomas Patrick Graves of Bay City, Charles
Graves of Mittie, La. and John Graves of Bay City; eight
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home

James Robert Craig Grebe was born August 31, 1985, in Bay
City, and died March 22, 2011, in Fort Worth.
He is survived by: his parents, Lynn and Debra Grebe; his
sisters and brothers-in-law, Suzette and Jon Selden of
Austin, Penny and Mike Bergeron of Provo, and Celeste and
Brandon Sipherd of New York City; his brother, Dennis Grebe
of San Antonio; and his sister, Kathryn Grebe of Provo; his
grandparents, Mary and Bob Grebe of Denver; and numerous
aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is also survived by the love of his life — his fiance,
Lindsey Joy Janik of Fort Worth, and his future in-laws, Dan
and Mary Jo Janik, and future sister-in-law, Jennifer Laird,
all of Katy.
Craig was a third-year medical student at University of
North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, an honor
graduate of Tulane University, and a 2004 graduate of Bay
City High School, where he graduated in the Top Ten.
He was an outstanding football player, playing in three
state championships for the Bay City Blackcats.
As a youth he enjoyed swimming and won five state
championships, swimming breaststroke for the summer league.
Many of his records still stand.
He enjoyed working with underprivileged children and taught
swimming lessons; he worked as a lifeguard at Hilliard Pool
for four years.
He enjoyed the outdoors and was an Eagle Scout.
He was engaged to be married to Lindsey Joy Janik on July
23, 2011.
Craig was diagnosed with Type I diabetes at age 15.
He took care of himself and was never seen without his
diabetes pack. Diabetes was part of the Craig that we knew.
In life he was an inspiration to others. In death he will
not be forgotten.
His funeral was held Saturday, March 26, at The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bay City.
A scholarship fund is set up in his name at Wells Fargo, and
donations may be made there.

PALACIOS - Oscar Fred "Freddie" Greer Jr., 41, of Palacios,
died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011. Freddie was born in Richmond
on Dec. 15, 1969 to Oscar F. Greer Sr. and Gayle Fondon
Greer. He was a welder and a member of Faith Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Greer; daughter, Faith
Greer; sons, Oscar Fred "Trey" Greer III, Christopher Greer-Vasques,
and William Greer; father, Oscar Fred Greer Sr. and wife
Donna; mother, Gayle Polachek and husband Leo; and brothers,

Guajardo, 67, went to be with her Lord on
Monday, Jan. 9, 2012. Mary was born March 9,
1944 in Bay City to the late John Joseph & Julia
Rodriguez Valdez. She was a very devoted mother
and grandmother. She loved baking for her
family, especially her grandchildren. Mary loved
music, dancing whenever the occasion presented
itself. She will be greatly missed by her sons.
She is survived
by her 2 sons: Joe Guajardo & wife Abigail and
Jerry Guajardo; 2 grandchildren: Jared and
Gabriella; 4 brothers: Jesse Valdez, John Joe
“Kenny” Valdez, Lorenzo Valdez, and Guadalupe
Valdez; 3 sisters: Angie Lopez, Mary Rose Cox,

William Allen "Dub" Guidry, 74, passed
away Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at his residence. He was
born in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas on August 28,
1926 to Allen and Jessie Snowe Guidry.
Dub was a member of the First Baptist Church. He worked as a
Petroleum Engineer for Skelly Oil Company, Getty Oil
Company, and Texaco.
He is survived by: two daughters, Darla Guidry of Austin and
Pat Guidry of Bay City, one sister and brother-in-law,
Frances and Oscar Travis of Port Arthur, Texas; two nephews
and one niece.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, February 24,

Jerry Gutierrez, 59, of Bay City died Nov. 8, 2000 at
Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City. He was born Oct. 28,
1941 in Matagorda County to Gilbert and Simona Garcia
Gutierrez. Mr. Gutierrez was a resident of Bay City.
Survivors include: sisters, Mary Waggoner of Bay City, Elida
Trevino of Angleton, Diana Reyna of Victoria, Delia Martinez

the Matagorda House Health Care Center. She was born
December 6, 1918 in Wharton County, TX to the late Reaheal
and Manuela Chacon Silvas. She was a lifelong resident of
Bay City and was member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic
Church.

She was born October 19, 1913 in Palacios, Texas to the late

Church and a lifelong resident of Bay City.
