Funeral services for Gennie Eaton, 87, of Sweeny will be Saturday, June 2, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Lane, Tex., with the Rev. Carl Lee Allison officiating. Burial will be Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

She died Monday, May 28, 2001 at Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City.

She is survived by one daughter, Charity Lewis (Nathan, Jr.), Sweeny; 1 step-son, Barney Eaton, Los Angeles, Ca.; 1 step-daughter, Jewell Macon, Los Angeles, Ca.; 1 sister Mildred Harris, Houston; 3 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Nathan Lewis Jr., Howard Releford, George McKnight, Ronnie Cathey, Robert Hilton, Thomas Randle, marlon Swist Sr., and Robert Lemon.

Sam Mack Eaton Jr., 84, of Sweeny, Texas, passed away Dec. 13, 1995, at Matagorda House in Bay City, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 17, 1995, at 2:30 p. m. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Cedar Lane, Texas, with the Rev. Carl L. Allison officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane, Texas.

Family will receive friends Saturday at the Green’s Mortuary from 8 – 9 p. m.

Survivors include his wife, Gennie Eaton; sister, Rev. Jimmie C. Hilton of Galveston, Texas; son, Barney Eaton of Diamond Bar, California; daughters, Jewell M. Macon of Los Angeles, Calif., Chavity L. Williams of Sweeny, Texas, Bessie Mae Hall, who preceded him in death. Five grandchildren, Rhonda Y. Jones, Nathan Donell Lewis, Robyn D. Williams, Russell Sidney, Clane Daniels, 17 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, two nephews dear to his heart, Robert (Tac) Hilton, Samuel (Bo) Johnson, close friends and neighbors, Herbert and Tena Semien, devoted daughter-in-law, Frankie Eaton and son-in-law, Robert Lee Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Annie Fields

Funeral services for Annie Fields, 81, of Cedar Lane, will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday at Shiloh Baptist Church, Cedar Lane, with the Rev H. T. Aldridge officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery, Cedar Lane.

A wake will be held from 7 to 9 p. m. Saturday at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel, and visitation is scheduled from 1 to 2 p. m. Sunday at the church.

Mrs. Fields was born Aug. 20. 1903, to Clarence and Minnie Spiller Williams in Cedar Lane and died at 7:28 a. m. July 24, 1985, at Matagorda General Hospital. She was a member of the Baptist church and Olive Leaf Chapter 219, Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Tommie Fields Jr. of Cedar Lane; six daughters, Ophelia Griggs, Betty Plummer, Verna Ross and Ida Fields, all of Cedar Lane, Loraine Hadden of Sweeny and Wilada Green of Bay City; three sons, Hilliard Fields, Sr. of Bay City, Eugene Fields Sr. of Cedar Lane and Donald Fields Sr. of Brazoria; a sister, Lorena Brown of Cedar Lane; an uncle, Monroe Williams Jr. of Houston; 179 grandchildren, which includes three generations; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a family of friends.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, and honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons.

Archie Fields Sr.

Funeral services for Archie Fields Sr., 95, of Bay City will be held 1 p. m. Saturday at Enterprise Baptist Church with the Rev. A. H. Pointer officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane.

Visitation hours will be held this afternoon, and a wake will be held from 7 to 9 p. m. Friday.

Mr. Fields was born Oct. 18, 1894, to Tony and Meneriva Jones Fields in Texas and died Sept. 17, 1990, at Matagorda General Hospital.

He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Fostena Edwards of Galveston, Mary Tolson of Bay City and Marilyn Lacey of Houston; six sons, Jimmie Fields of Houston, Archie Fields Jr., Herman Fields and Tommie Fields Sr. of Galveston, Hallard Fields of Freeport and Isiah Fields Sr. of Bay City; two sisters, Catherine Lewis and Evelyn Thomas of Bay City; two brothers, Lawery Fields of Bay City and Odie Fields of Brazoria; a sister-in-law, Ruth Hunt of El Campo; 45 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Gary Fields, Mike Fields, Jimmie Grice, Isiah Fields, Jr., Tommie Fields Jr., Matthews Edwards, Ricky Fields III, Archie Fields III, Archie McDaniel, Timmothy Edwards and Lloyd Lewis.

Eddie R. Fields

 

Funeral services for the Rev. Ernest S. Fields, 80, of Cedar Lane will be Saturday July 8, 2000 at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Lane with the Rev. S. Staten officiating and Moderator, the Rev. A. S. Johnson, messenger. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane. He died July 1, 2000 at Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City.

He served in the U. S. Army where he achieved the rank of Sergeant, and was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Fields' pastoral ministry spanned a period of over 40 years. He began as Pastor of Large Concord Baptist Church, Brazoria, Texas. In 1961, the Rev. Fields was called to become Pastor of the Rising Star Baptist Church, Spanish Camp Community, Wharton, for which he served 22 years. In 1963, he was also called to become Pastor of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Brazoria and served there for 36 years. He retired from Pastoral duties in August, 1999, but continued as an Evangelist. Some of the Rev. E. S. Fields' accomplishments include serving as 1st-Vice Moderator for Southern District Association and Dean of the Gulf Coast Ministerial Alliance.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Maudrine Fields of Cedar Lane; three sons Ernest Coleman Fields (Betty) of Fairfield, Calif., the Rev. Harold Gene Fields (Paulette) of Dallas, Ronnie Earl Fields (Kim) of Houston; two daughters Gwendolyn LaVern Tates (Charles) of Houston, Jeanie Ladell Fields of Bay City; one brother Burrell Fields (Louis) of Houston; one sister, Eliza Thomas (Oliver) of Houston; nine grandchildren Reginald Wayne, Mario Tyrone, Shanta' Renee, Harold Gene II, Garrett Sidney, Charles Dondrei LaJon, Clinessa Maudrine, Christina Lynn and Timothy (Tim), nine great-grandchildren; three brothers-in-law Alex Sidney, Jr., Melvin Sidney, Carlos Sidney, Jr.; one uncle Lawyer Fields; one aunt Evelyn Thomas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Donald Ray Sidney, Alex Sidney, III, Donald R. Marshall, Dave Ward, III, Wayne Fields, Ruben Jones, the Rev. William King, III and Carl Lee Kemp.

Funeral services for Maudrine Fields, 85, of Cedar Lane will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Lane with the Rev. Steven Staten officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.

She passed away on Friday, January 22, 2010 at her residence. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She served as past president of the Minister Wives of Southern District Association. She was a member of the Choir at Jerusalem Baptist Church and Rising Star Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Alex and Mary Sidney; husband, the late Rev. Ernest S. Fields; son, Ernest C. Fields, Jr.; brothers, Melvin Sidney, Nelson Sidney, Alex Sidney, Jr., Alfred Sidney, Buster Sidney and Carlos Sidney and sisters, Lawnie Franklin, Alesia Sidney, Allean Bryant, Algore Sidney and Besty Sidney.

She is survived by: her loving children; sons, Harold G. Fields, Lancaster, Texas and Ronnie E. Fields (Kim), Katy; daughters, Gwendolyn Tates (Charles), Houston and Jeanie L. Fields, Cedar Lane; daughter in law, Betty Fields, Fairfield, California; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. There will not be viewing afterwards.

Deacon Hallard O. Fields (“Yettie”) was born September 17, 1933 in Bay City, Texas, to Archie and Marilyn Fields. He departed this life on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.

Funeral services for Hallard Fields "Yittie" will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at First United Missionary Baptist Church in Freeport, with Rev. Ondra Waddy, officiating.

Viewing will be held Monday, January 30, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 at the church, burial will follow immediately after service at Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane.

Mr. Fields was born Sept. 15, 1935, to Archie and Marilyn Jones Fields and died June 20, 1994, in St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston.

He was a member of the Baptist church.

Funeral services for Michael Lee Fields, 52, of Cedar Lane, Will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Cedar Lane with the Pastor Steven Staten, eulogist. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Monday at the Chapel.

He was born in Cedar Lane, Texas, November 28, 1955, and passed away October 8, 2008, in Bay City. He was a 1974 graduate of Van Vleck High School.

Survivors include: his parents, Howard, Sr. and Verna Fields Ross of Cedar Lane; five children, Mike, Leroy, DeAdrain, Roosevelt and Tommie, and seven grandchildren. Also three sisters, Wanda Sims (and Michael Sr.) and Denise Young (and Daniel, Jr.) all of Bay City, and Demetra Jones of Brazoria; and two brothers, Howard Ross, Jr. and Patrick Ross, both of Cedar Lane. Also a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and enormous family of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Vidal, March 6, 2008.

Funeral services for Oddie Fields Sr., 96, of Brazoria will be held 1 p. m. Wednesday at Shiloh Baptist Church in Cedar Lane with the Rev. E. L. Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane.

He died April 25, 1991, at Sweeny House in Sweeny.

He was a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church in Brazoria and the A. F. and A. M. Masonic Lodge 104 of Brazoria. He was also a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by his wife, Ezzie Louise Fields Sr. of Brazoria; three sons, the Rev. E. S. Fields of Cedar Lane, Burrell Fields of Houston and the Rev. Oddie Fields Jr. of Brazoria; three daughters, Nettie Ruth Stephney and Eula Mae Chatman of Galveston and Eliza Mae Thomas of Houston; two sisters, Evelyn Thomas and Catherine Lewis; a brother, Lawyer Fields of Bay City; 21 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are the Masonic brothers.

He was a member of the Baptist church and Gulf Coast Lodge 272.

Survivors include six daughters, Ophelia Griggs, Betty Plummer, Verna Ross and Ida Fields, all of Cedar Lane, Loraine Hadden of Sweeny and Wilada Green of Bay City; three sons, Hilliard Fields Sr. of Bay City, Eugene Fields Sr. of Cedar Lane and Donald Fields Sr. of Brazoria; two sisters, Catherine Lewis and Evelyn Thomas of Bay City; three brothers, Archie Fields Sr. and Lawyer Fields Sr. of Bay City and Oddie Fields Sr. of Brazoria; 179 grandchildren which includes three generations; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Fields, on July 24, 1985.
