Topic: The Peters Colony and Immigration to Texas
Peters Colony was the name given to a North Texas empresario grant made in 1841 by the Republic of Texas to 20 American and English investors led by William S. Peters, an English musician and businessman who immigrated to the United States in 1827. The Peters Colony Historical Society is a Dallas County organization working to preserve the history of the Peters Colony settlers and their descendants.
