McLENNAN - a new county in the central part of Texas, has an area of about 800 square miles. It is intersected by the Brazos river, and also drained by the Bosque, Middle Bosque, and South Bosque rivers. The surface is uneven, and consists partly of prairies. This county was formed since the census of 1850 was taken. The population is unknown, but very sparse. Capital, Waco. page 639
