Winans of
Chillicothe, Missouri, and Mrs. Patricia Winans
Kelly, and Mrs. Dorothy
N. Reeves of San Antonio, Texas, recently visited the grave of Frances
Winans, which is located on the Tom Milton estate, in the pasture across
the road from Faith Lutheran Church.
The grave is enclosed with old iron cemetery fencing, which was
erected in 1875 by three of his daughters.
Francis Winans and his second wife, Julia Ann
(Whittaken), early settlers to
Texas, came from, Green County, Carrolton, Illinois, and settled on Cedar
Creek in 1836.

daughter, Eliza Ann Billingsley. |

Mr. Ralph Winans of Chillicothe,
Missouri, is a descendant of Isaac WINANS.
Mrs. Patricia Kelly is a descendant of William Winans, and Mrs.
Dorothy. Reeves is a descendant of Edward WINANS.
Mr.
And Mrs. Ralph Winans posses old letters written to his brothers and
sisters living in Texas dating as far back as 1858.
