Attention AOL Email users

I am sorry I have to post this notice, but most of the AOL Emails I reply to bounce back to me, if you do not hear from me within 24 hours, your AOL Server refused a reply to your original email to me. I keep the bounced message for about a week and then delete it. so Please use an alternative email address if you really want an reply from me.

I try to be good at answering all my email's within a few hours but with AOL email service, I give up and I will only reply a couple of times to an AOL Email user to make sure it goes thru, before I look up a request because time after time, I tried to send the information I took time to lookup, only to have it turned back, for various resason, "not liked" so if the test email bounces back, I will not start looking up information for someone who can not recieve it.

You are the 118844 visitor since the counter was installed on September 5, 1997.

Mills county was formed from Brown, Comanche, Hamilton, and Lampasas Counties in 1887.The county was named in honor of John T. Mills, a early Judge, who successively held the judgeship of the Third, Seventh, and Eighth Judicial districts. Mills county Court house is located in Goldthwaite, Mills County, Texas. According to the Mills County Historical The town was named for Joe G. Goldthwaite, the railroad official who conducted the auction of town lots. In a 1950 issue of the Goldthwaite Eagle, there is a short biography of Grandma Goldthwaite, the Mother of George Goldthwaite who the town was named after.

John Cormack won the bid to build the court house in 1889 for the sum of $27,000. The courthouse burned on May 5, 1912 and was rebuilt the following year. Luckily, no county records were lost in the fire.

The Listings will include "Hurst Ranch Cemetery" even though this cemetery is in Hamilton County, There are several Mills County Families buried there. The late Oliver Raasch had provided me a list of the Military Veterans buried in Hurst Ranch Cemetery that he compiled a few years ago and Christine Fung,  a Mills County Family Researcher, has transcribed the names and dates from an Archive Microfilm and I have added names from recent obituary's. This will not be a current or complete list of this cemetery, but thought the information would be of benefit to researchers, If you have information to share about Hurst Ranch Cemetery, please email/contact me   I am sorry but will be unable to do any lookups at this time
