The Society was organized in May 1978 by a committee headed by Sharon Tomlinson with the assistance of
Weldon Hudson and Barbara Knox of Fort Worth, Texas. Its purpose is to
aid in the preservation of genealogical and historical records and promote interest in research in these areas. There were some 75 charter members. The present membership
is about 200.
A publication, "Leaves and Branches" first published in 1978, is sent to members and exchange
groups in February and August. It contains family charts, Bible records and information on Navarro County families. Queries are free to members. The editor welcomes
family group sheets, old letters and source material which would be of interest to persons with Navarro County ancestors.
The Society meets quarterly on the second Saturday of March, June, September and November in the
Nancy Roberts Meeting Room of the Corsicana Public
Library, 100 North 12th Street.
MEMBERSHIP DUES:
Regular - $10, Family - $15, Sustaining - $15. Please add $3.00 for
postage in mailing publication. Members may choose to pick-up their copy
of Navarro Leaves and Branches or have it e-mailed to them.
