Darwood Pullin, son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Pullin of Blooming Grove, Graduate of Blooming Grove High School. Joined the U.S. Navy right after graduation. Served in the Navy over 20 years.

Seaman 1st Class Gerald B. (Buddy) Pullin, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Pullin of Blooming Grove. Graduate of Blooming Grove High School. Husband of the Former Billie Jean Cumpston. Entered the U.S. Navy in 1946. Served in the Philippines, Guam, Hawaiian Islands, Johnson Island. Honorably discharged in 1948.

S/Sgt. William T. Purdy, Army Med Dept., husband of Velma Karon Lowe Purdy. Entered service Dec 10, 1942, training at Walter Reed General Hospital, Washington, D.C.
CLARK N. PUTMAN
Sgt. Clark N. Putman, son of Lee and Eva Clark Putman of Navarro Mills. Entered the U.S. Army Oct. 17, 1941. Served with 12th Cav. in South Pacific. Received decorations and citations - Asiatic-Pacific Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, Philippine Liberation Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Discharged Oct. 4, 1945.

WENDELL W. PUTMAN
T/5 Wendell W. Putman, 1901th Eng. Aviation Batt., son of Lee and Eva Clark Putman of Navarro Mills. Entered service Aug. 27, 1942. He served 37 months, 12 months overseas in the American Theater to Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Received Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. Attended Alliance and Blooming Grove Schools. Husband of the former Wyvonne Yaws of Stamford.

Cpl. Jesse H. Ragland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ragland of Dawson. Husband of Mrs. Inez L. Hughes Ragland. Entered service in May 1943, training at Camp Wolters and Fort Belvoir, Va. Served in Africa and Italy.
JIM R. RAMSEY
Capt. Jim R. Ramsey, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Ramsey, Sr. of Blooming Grove. Graduate of Blooming Grove High School in 1931, Univ. of Oklahoma in 1941. Entered service March 17, 1941, and trained as a radio and radar communications specialist by the Army Signal Corps at Fort Monmounth, N. J. Commissioned as 2nd Lt. in August 1942. Honorably discharged March 10, 1946.

JOSHUA P. RASCOE
Sgt. Joshua P. Rascoe, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Rascoe of Corsicana. Entering the service in October 1942. He went overseas in July 1944. Served with the 96th Div. of the 10th Army. He was injured on Okinawa.

Sgt. Billy Brack Rash, son of Emmett E. and Georgia B. Rash of Corsicana. Husband of the former Mary B. Nichols. Attended Mildred High School and Univ. of Houston. Entered service Sept. 11, 1944. Served as a parachute rigger and repairman, instructor for flying officers and replacement personnel in the techniques of inspection, repair and packing of parachutes. Served with the 20th Air Force, 315 Bomb Wing in Guam and the Pacific. Received the Sharpshooter Carbine Award, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon, 2 Overseas Bars. Discharged Aug. 27, 1946.
MARION VERNON RAY
S/Sgt. Marion Vernon Ray, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Ray of Corsicana. Entered the U.S. Army April 6, 1944. Served at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo, Camp Shanks, N.Y., European Theater, also in France, Belgium and Germany. Honorably discharged in April 1946.

Pvt. Guy W. Raynor entered service in 1941, training at Camp Wolters, Texas and Ft. Bayard, N.M. Died at Fort Bayard in 1944.

JAMES R. REDFORD
Pfc. James r. Redford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Redford of Roane. Trained at Lubbock. Saw action in India and the Pacific Theater, serving overseas for 18 months.
BILLY JOE REEVES
Billy Joe Reeves, son of Gladys and George Reeves of Raleigh, Texas. Graduate of Blooming Grove High School. Entered the U.S. Coast Guard in 1942. Served for duration of the war.
JIMMY GLENN REEVES
Jimmy Glenn Reeves, son of Gladys and George Reeves of Raleigh, Texas. Graduate of Blooming Grove High School. Entered the U.S. Navy. Served for a short time. Received a medical discharge because of a severe back injury.

Lt. Col. USAF Alva R. Reid, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.S. Reid of Corsicana. Husband of the former Sallye Gibson of Henderson, Texas. Graduate of Univ. of Texas at Tyler. Entered service April 7, 1942, training at Santa Ana, Calif. Tucson, Ariz., and Marfa, Texas. Received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, Air Medal (5 Oak Leaf Clusters and 1 U.S. Navy Bronze Star in Lieu of Air Medal), Air Force Commendation Medal, and Joint Services Commendation Medal.
FREDERICK A. RILES
Cpl. Frederick A. Riles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jasper W. Riles of Angus. Attended the Grape Creek School, Angus. Entered service May 27, 1942, training at Camp Swift, Texas. Served in France, England, and Germany.
ELBERT HORACE ROBERSON
Sgt. Elbert Horace Roberson, son of John Henry and Alice Warner Roberson. Attended Roane School. Entered the Army Air Force and received his training at Las Vegas, Nev. and Memphis, Tenn. Served in Calcutta, India. Returned to states and was discharged in 1946. Husband of the former Eunice Wallace.
J. C. ROBERSON
Cpl. J. C. Roberson, son of John Henry and Alice Warner Roberson. Attended Roane School. Served in the European Theater of Operations in the 36th Div., 111th Eng., Co. C. Husband of the former Dorothy Jean Logan of Pittsburg, Penn.
FRED T. ROBERTS
Fred T. Roberts, husband of the former Beth Page of Blooming Grove. Enlisted in Dallas on Sept 5, 1942 to serve national emergency years. Classified as a rifle Sharpshooter Oct 22, 1942. Served in the Central Pacific Area from April 26, 1943, to May 15, 1945. Participated in initial occupation of Majuro Atoll, Marshall Islands. Discharged Oct. 19, 1945.

JAMES P. ROBERTS
Lt. James P. Roberts, son of Walter Roberts of Chatfield was reported missing in action over France on Feb. 4 1944, and later was reported a prisoner of the German government and was stationed at Stalag Luft 1, on the northern coast of Germany. He was the pilot of a Flying Fortress, and arrived in England Dec 29, 1943. Attended Corsicana High School, and entered the Army Air Force in March 1942.
