1840 - The area later called Palo Pinto County is
in Republic of Texas. Part of it is in Robertson County, part in
Bexar County, and part in Milam County. The Republic
of Texas did not take a national census however its yearly county
tax lists can provide a partial substitute.
1850 - The first United States Census had about
half of the area later called Palo Pinto County is in Navarro County,
with the other half in Milam County.
