Franklin Barton died Jan 1st in 1908 and is supposed to be buried in the Veal Station Cemetery. Wm. Franklin was from Randolph County Al.around 1844. His second wife was named Fannie or Frannie Elizabeth Overton.

I am thinking perhaps they moved to Parker County, like a number of people from McNairy County. In the 1860 Census they are listed as living in the Monterey district (9) of McNairy County. The names listed are: H.W. Harris, age 49, his wife, Lucinda age 39 Rebecca J. 18 John T. 14 Lucinda 12 Hugh W. 10 (in later censuses he is listed as Hugh D.) Martha 7 Nancy P. 4 Susan E. 1 Rebecca Blay age 65 (she is listed as being born in VA) Everyone seems to disappear from McNairy County around the turn of the century.

BLACKWELL posted by Martha Tanner on Wednesday, October 28, 1998: My BLACKWELL (Richard born abt 1819 - bef 1880) came from Warren Co TN by 1850 to Smith Co TX, then to Parker Co TX by 1860, Denton Co TX by 1870, Wise Co TX by 1880 then some onto OK. I had alot of family in and around Springtown, Parker Co but alot of the family said Springtown was in Wise Co. I have copies of notarized documents listing Spingtown in both Counties.
