CLARK, GRIMES, JOHNSON, MILLICAN posted by Melinda Schrock on Monday, December 7, 1998

I'm researching my JOHNSON family in PARKER COUNTY. My Ggrandfather was William Oscar JOHNSON (b. 1870 d. 1959 in PARKER Co.) He married Mary L. "Mollie" Clark and they had eleven children: Joseph A., Arthur R., Thomas J., Samuel G., Edward L., William O., Joel C., Mary Estell, Ellen Nora, Benjamin B.,and Woodrow W.. He was a Methodist minister, a coal miner, stone cutter, rock mason, carpenter and a farmer. He built his own home northwest of Weatherford at the age of 70. I'd like to connect with family who may still be living in the area and perhaps find out more history about the JOHNSONS of Parker Co. W. O.'s second wife was named Bonnie Ethel MILLICAN and she stayed in the Weatherford area after his death in 1959. I think she died in 1981. He also had a brother Frank S. JOHNSON and a sister Lennie (GRIMES). Any information would be greatly appreciated.

BEDFORD, HUNT posted by Deason Hunt on Wednesday, December 30, 1998

BEDFORD, JAMES. I am searching for descendants of and information about James Bedford-Elizabeth Betsy Hunt who settled in PARKER COUNTY, TEXAS ca 1860. Lucy is only known daughter of Thomas Hunt (RUTHERFORD CO, NC??, BLOUNT CO, TN, & RUSK CO, TX. It is believed that James Bedford also came from same locations at the sametime as member of Hunt family marrying Betsy Hunt 12/9/1828 in BLOUNT CO, TN. James was a witness on estate papers of Thomas Hunt ca 1857 in Rusk Co. There the trail ends except of a family tradition that James was a Baptist minister who moved to Parker Co, TX with wife and two sons who "were Texas Rangers"..."and was never heard from again" (by the Rusk Co, Tx family. I am trying to tie up loose ends to publish about Thomas Hunt and his descendants and would like to confirm/share information. Deason Hunt, dhunt@mastnet.net,
