COGBURN, DAUGHERTY, DAVIS, HARRIE, MARTIN posted by Sandra Wortham on Saturday, February 1, 2003: Grt grandparents William I COGBURN & Jennie T. DAVIS married PARKER Co 11/16 1893. Repeatedly I've hit brick wall on Wm's Cogburn family; his mother remarried after the death of his father, which was prior to Wm's birth and we've never found name of father, grandparents, etc. In searching Parker Co site found 3 other Cogburn marriages frm 1884-1909 and wonder if someone with these COGBURNS might shed light that would assist us in getting started again on Wm's line. I'm not sure why they married in Parker as his family was living in Taylor at that time as well as Jennie's I think so perhaps there was some reason they were there & might find helpful info through you and your line? There was a M. A. Cogburn & Carrie B. Daugherty who married 9/11 1884, an A. B. Cogburn & Annie Martin who married 5/23 1897, and Jesse Cogburn & Ollie Harrie who married 9/12 1909; also a post regarding Dennis Lafayette born in Parker to Dennis & Rosie Smith Cogburn. JONES, SHELTON posted by Annette Shelton on Wednesday, February 5, 2003: Looking for information on W. Alexander SHELTON and Ella Jones. They married in Parker Co., TX on December 20, 1908. They had a child Blanche Ethel on March 17, 1910 in Whitt, TX. He died around 1911 or 1912 probubly in Parker Co. Would like to know where he is buried. Ella married his brother Jesse (aka Jake) SHELTON between 1912-1914 and had a son, Aaron, in 1914. Any information about the SHELTON or JONES family would be appreciated.

They married in 1910 in PARKER CO and they had one child together. W Alexander was @ 22-24 years old when he died. I am searching for a MARRIAGE record for J.R. (or ROBERT)BROWNING to LYDIA (?) in PARKER CO. between the years 1860 and 1880. Thanks for any help!
From Lela: Marriage records before 1874 were destroyed when the courthouse burned. However a reconstruction was done from various sources including family records, newspaper accounts, etc. It is not likely that all marriages were found. Those located are at:
