He had at least one son born 1928 in Iraan, Pecos Co. (son was A.D. LYONS). Jim LYONS is believed to have been in the oil field industry during this time, (but not proven). Seeking date of death, marriage--possibly to Ruth HARLOW. James (Jim) and Winnie Mable NEWCOMER (sometimes spelled NEWCOMB) who worked for Humble Oil Co. believed to also have ties to LYONS and Pecos Co. Royall on Friday, January 11, 2002: Jesse "Joe" PHILLIPS passed from this life on Friday, Jan. 04, 2002 at 2:15 A.M. at the Wilson n Jones Medical Center in Sherman, Texas at the age of 94 years, 3 months and 1 day. He was born Jesse Angus PHILLIPS in Santa Anna, Coleman County Texas on October 3, 1907 to the late James Alexander PHILLIPS and Nina (MCLEOD) PHILLIPS. Jesse was raised in Santa Anna where he attended the Santa Anna Schools. He married Shirley Ellene BLANTON in Santa Anna on September 21, 1935 and they celebrated 54 years of marriage. Shirley preceded him in death in 1989. He resided in Pecos, Texas from 1948 till 1961 when he moved to Taylor, Texas. He later moved to Van Alstyne, Texas. Jesse was a member of the Church of Christ and was a residential carpenter until his retirement in 1982. He enjoyed gardening and working with the land. The mother of Jesse Angus PHILLIPS (Nina MCLEOD) is a daughter of Angus Nicholson MCLEOD and Sarah Ella (LITTLE) MCLEOD and a brother of my Grandfather Clyde A. MCLEOD. Charlie
