LORENA. A settlement on the W. section of
the Missouri Pacific Railway in McLennan county,
90 miles northeast of Austin, and 20 miles south-
west of Waco, the county seat and nearest banking
point. Settled in 1881, it contains 2 churches, a
public school, 2 steam cotton gins, a grist mill
and a corn sheller. Shipments, cotton, corn and
live stock. Population, 150. Tel., Western
Union. Express, Pacific. Mail, daily.  C. F.
