transcribed these Minutes of Commissioners' Court from poor quality
microfilm. The
copies were very light in places and difficult to read. I
have copied the records just as they were written, including
punctuation, spelling and capitalization. If you know of any corrections
that need to be made, please contact me.

Dear Rena,
The early stone church had a tiny room
built on the east side of it which we discovered when we excavated the
Old Mission several years ago. My husband dug that particular
area and even uncovered the posts that had once comprised the door
way. We were told at that time that that tiny room was once used
as the first Refugio Courthouse.
Sincerely and with many thanks for all your
efforts,
Marion Armstrong Craft
