“Refugio Gets New Hotel”

Contractor C.B. Shoemeker began the construction Monday morning on Alamo St. , of a 20-room hotel for M. Puig and C.A. Neuman.  The building adjoins the Hornburg apartment house and is 30 x 60 feet in dimensions.  It will be a two-story frame house, equipped with the latest modern facilities including 7 shower baths and about the same number of tub-bath facilities.  There is to be hot and cold water in all of the twenty rooms.

The cost of the building and equipment is placed at around $15,000.00.  A 4-chair barber shop will be one of the ground-floor features.  The contractor promises completion within 30 days.

C.A. Neuman will personally manage the new hotel.
