This search engine is ONLY for births, baptisms, confirmations, deaths,
obituaries, and marriages of Refugio County. At the present
it does NOT include the divorces, births from 1951 forward and
social security death records for Refugio and Woodsboro.
These excluded records can still be searched from the search engine
found on the home page.

Marriages - 19th Century Books A, B and C are the earliest marriages for Refugio County and include marriages from 1839 through 1881. For some reason, the earliest marriages are in Book C.

Selected Marriages from Marriage Books A, B and C
"Book C" - County Clerk's Office Marriage Dates beginning in 1839 The marriages in Book C include the very earliest marriages in Refugio Co. They begin in 1839 and continue with marriages sporadically dated through 1867. When the marriages were recopied in 1900 by the County Clerk, they became the first part of Book C. The first marriage was between James C. Allan and Catharine Hay in 1839.
