Clarence J. West now in United States

Mrs. L.F. West received word from her son Sgt. Clarence J. West, that he has landed in the United States .

Cpl. West was in combat on Makin and Saipan Islands and was wounded, losing half of the sight in his right eye.  He was hospitalized over seas, then returned to the States for further treatment.
