At a Probate Court holden for the County of Refugio at the Court House on Monday the 29th day of July 1840:

Present the Hon. Benjamin F. Neal Judge of the Probate Court - Jeremiah Findley, Sheriff, John Clark Deputy Clk.

Legal Notice having been given of the application of Thomas Thatcher praying that the Last Will and Testament of James Morris deceased be probated and that letters testamentary issue thereon.  The same being probated in open court by William Davis one of the subscribing witnesses thereto - It is ordered by said court that the same be recorded and that the clerk of the Probate Court issue letters Testamentary thereon, the Petitioner giving bond in the sum of Ten Thousand dollars.

It is ordered that Philip Dimitt Thomas Newcomb and William Trapnell be appointed appraisers of the estate of James Morris deceased.

Legal notice having been given of the application of John Armstrong praying that the last will and testament of Edward OBoyle [O'Boyle] deceased be probated and that letters Testamentary issue thereon - The same being duly proven in open court by Edward Drew one of the subscribing witnesses thereto - It is ordered by said court that the same be recorded and that the clerk of the Probate Court issue Letters Testamentary thereon; the Petitioner giving bond in the sum of Two thousand dollars.  It is further ordered by the court that Jos. E. Plummer Alvin E. White Willard Richardson be appointed appraisers of the estate of Edward OBoyle deceased.

John W. Bower having file his Petition praying a Partition of the estate of Elizabeth O'Brien deceased.  It is ordered by the Court that the Clerk issue summons compelling the defendants to appear at the next term of said Court and show cause if any why said estate shall not be divided -

Public notice having been given of the Petition of Melinda Baker praying the appointment of administrator upon the estate of John Baker deceased - It ordered by the Court that the said Petitioner be appointed administratrix of said estate and that letters of administration issue thereon, the Petitioner giving bond in the sum of Two thousand dollars - 

It is further ordered by the court that John Armstrong Jos. E. Plummer and Alvin E. White be appointed appraisers of said estate.

John Armstrong having produced into Court a schedule of the real and personal property of the estate of J.C. Piarce [Pierce Pearce] deceased, which has been sold and the balance remaining unsold - having sworn to the same it is ordered by the court that the schedule be filed along with the other papers of the same case.

Public Notice having been given of the application of Martin Power praying the appointment of administrator upon the estate of William Redmond deceased.  It is ordered by said court that the said Petitioner be appointed administrator of said estate and that letters of administration be granted thereon - the Petitioner giving bond in the sum of five hundred dollars.

It is ordered by the Court that Michael Fox, Peter Teal and Henry Ryals be appointed appraisers of the estate of William Redmond deceased.

Legal notice having been given of the application of Martin Power praying the appointment of administrator upon the estate of Wm. McGuill decd.  It is ordered by said court that the said Petitioner be appointed administrator of said estate and that the clerk of the Probate Court issue letters of administration thereon, the Petitioner giving bond in the sum of five hundred dollars - and it is further ordered that Michael Fox, Peter Teal and Henry Ryals be appointed appraisers upon said estate -

It is ordered by the court that Willard Richardson, Jeremiah Findley and Jos. E. Smith be appointed appraisers of the estate of William Henry Hunted deceased.

John Dunn having filed his Petition praying the court to issue and order changing the succession of Joshua Davis from the County Court of Victoria to the County of Refugio - It is therefore ordained that the Judge of the County of Victoria deliver over to the Clerk of the Probate Court of the County of Refugio all the papers books &c relating to said succession -


It is ordered that this court adjourn sine die.
