Be it remembered that on the 26th day of April A.D. 1841.  The Honorable Probate Court for Refugio County was opened according to law.  Present Benj. F. Neal, Chief Justice, Henry Ryals J.P., Charles Smith, Sheriff, Jno. W.B. McFarlane Clerk.

Legal notice have been given of the application of Alexr H. Philips and Milford P. Norton praying the appointment of administrators upon the estate of John Ely decd.  Whereupon it is ordered by the Court that the said petitioner be appointed administrators of sd. Estate, and that the Clerk of the Probate Court issue letters of administration thereon, The petitioners giving bond in the sum of _________.
Legal notice have been given of the application of Michael Fox, praying the appointment of administrator upon the estate of James Brown decd.  Whereupon it is ordered by the Court, that the said petitioner be appointed administrator of sd. Estate and that the Clerk of the Probate Court issue Letters of Administration thereon.  The petitioner giving bond inthe sum of three thousand dollars.
It is further ordered by the Court that John R. Talley, Henry Ryals and Matthew Cody be appointed appraisers of the aforegoing estate -
John W. Bower having this day filed his bill of sales of the estate of Andrew OBrian [O'Brien].  It is ordered that the same be filed for record.
John Dunn Administrator of the estate of Joshua Davis having this day tendered his resignation as administrator of said estate, it is ordered by the Court that the same be received and that the said Dunn and his securities be discharged from further responsibility from the date of said resignation.
James Power having this day appeared in accordance to a notice issued from the Probate Court to make settlement of the Estate of Daniel Keane decd. and feeling himself unable on account of ill health to settle said estate.  It is ordered by the Court that the same be continued until next term.
Administrator of the Estate of Andrew OBrian [O'Brien] decd.
Having this day presented an account current with sd. Est. which after deducting the costs of court and other expenses attending th settlement of the same, leaves a balance due Morgan OBrian [O'Brien], Thos. OBrian [O'Brien]  and Jno. W. Bower and Bridget Bower, late Bridget OBrian [O'Brien] heirs and legal representatives of the said decd amounting in all to one hundred & thirty one dollars and ninety eight cents to be divided into three equal shares between the aforesaid heirs.  Whereupon it is ordered by the court that the sd. Administrator after paying to each Legatee which the sum to which he is entitled by the above distribution that the sd. administrator and his securities shall be discharged from further responsibility.
It is ordered that the Probate Court adjourn untill  (sic) day in course.
