Catholic Congregation Form Society for Men

The Catholic Mexican congregation of Refugio has organized a men’s society to be called “Sociedad de San Jose”.  Officers elected are Juan Orasco, president; Jacinto Contreras, vice president; Vicente Govella, secretary; Alexandro Garcia, vice secretary; Guadalupe Treveno [Trevino], collector; the Very Rev. Anthony …inga, M. & F. pastor of St. James Church being the spiritual director and treasurer.

The purpose of this society is to help each other in case of need and for their encouragement in the fulfilling of their duties as good Christians and citizens.

They will have a baseball team and a dramatic club.  The first baseball game will be playing in about two…
