Wheeler Store

Above the store of the late E.W. Wheeler, which stood on Purisima Street next to the Court House lot.  The gentlemen on the sidewalk are, from left to right, County Commissioner J.C. West, Joe St. Clair, E.W. Wheeler (the proprietor), the late County Judge Leslie Adkins and Robert Kelly.  The picture was made about 40 years ago [c 1894].  The building has long since disappeared.

If anyone has information about the store or the men in the photograph, please let me know.  refugioco@yahoo.com
