While some 155 Robertson County cemeteries are listed at cemeteries, several more need to be identified and located.  Below is a list of yet-to-be-identified or yet-to-be-located cemeteries.  If you know the names of any of these cemeteries, can identify where they are located, know who currently owns the land where these cemeteries or their sites may be located, have a list of who may be buried in them, or know of other Robertson County cemeteries that aren't listed, please contact William Kent Brunette.

Cemetery Name Description
Bartula Cemetery In Joseph Bartula's Journal, he states that his eldest son died and was buried in a cemetery, location unknown, described as being "5 miles from Owensville and 6 miles from Calvert."  (see Bartula Cemetery for burial list)
Cedar Creek Cemetery When going from Franklin through Wheelock towards OSR, turn left onto Cedar Creek Road (the road that goes past the log house).  Down this road, on land that is thought to have been formerly owned by the Spiller family, is a cemetery site that's now been plowed under.  Possible burials include those of David Tate Winkler & wife Lavinia Cates Owen Winkler.  This property, which has been owned by the Cajka family for some 50+ years, is somewhere in the vicinity of Cedar Creek & Cajka Branch.
Harper Cemetery The geographic coordinates are known and this cemetery appears on the TDOT Robertson County map, but no one has recently visited this cemetery to confirm its existence or to obtain burial list information. This cemetery is located north of Bremond, to the right when heading from Bremond towards Kosse.  It's before the Cloverleaf Rest Cemetery, on the other side of the railroad tracks from Cloverleaf Rest and the highway. This cemetery presumably contains burials of the African American Harper family who has lived in this area.
Henry Cemetery This cemetery is located on the old Gilstrap Place near Henry Prairie.  A list of burials at this cemetery is on file at the Robertson County Library in Franklin (see Henry Cemetery burial list)
Indian Burial Grounds Volunteer Tammie Hill has heard rumors of, but has never personally seen, the Indian Burial Grounds.  If the information she has heard is correct, this cemetery would be located to the left of Hwy. 6 when going from Hearne towards Calvert.  This Indian Burial Ground is not to be confused with the Red Hill-Saint Luke-Moody African American Cemetery that is adjacent to the cemetery road.  According to Tammie, "Start by entering the Red Hill-Saint Luke-Moody Cemetery.  Go through the fence at the back left-hand side of this cemetery.  Proceed through the trees and woods towards the Little Brazos River for about one mile.  When you reach a hill or knoll, stop.  From there, look down.  The valley area below is the Indian Burial Grounds site.  There are no headstones, but close attention to detail on the ground in this valley will reveal arrowheads, broken pottery pieces, etc.  This burial site is one-half mile from the banks of the Little Brazos River.  Supposedly the site has a spooky atmosphere." (see Indian Burial Grounds map)
Johnson Cemetery Betty Knight Shuffield reports that two brothers were killed by Night Riders in 1873 at their home between Calvert and Hearne.  The location of this lost cemetery is unknown.  (see Johnson Cemetery for partial burial list)
Old Sanctified Schoolgrounds Cemetery This cemetery would be located to the left when traveling on the West Henry Prairie Road out of Hearne.  This cemetery would be located halfway between Lost Creek and where this road makes a sharp left when heading back into Hearne.  It would be above the West Henry Prairie Road and to the left of the pipeline that runs through this area.  According to Volunteer Tammie Hill, "My great grandmother told me about this cemetery.  She called it the 'Old Sanctified Schoolgrounds Cemetery.'  Even then, the headstones were either weathered or gone." (see Old Sanctified Schoolgrounds Map)
Pierce Cemetery Located near Cole's Branch, which is not far outside of Bald Prairie, on the left when heading towards Easterly. This cemetery is somewhere near County Roads 476, 472, & 473. Dr. Pierce, members of his family, and his servants were buried in this plot. The cemetery has been lost for many years. The Pierce Cemetery was situated on the L. D. Hager estate. Cam Lary, of Burnet, Texas, a grandson of the Hager's, formerly owned the land. This cemetery is on land owned by Jeff Kennedy in 2001.  Mr. Kennedy has checked with older relatives about the possible whereabouts of this cemetery.  No one is unaware of any cemetery on his property. A list of burials at this cemetery is on file at the Robertson County Library in Franklin. (see Pierce Cemetery burial list)
Pin Oak Creek Cemetery This cemetery is located on Pin Oak Road, near the Sam Taite home, on land formerly owned by Mrs. Pearlie Marsh, in the Henry Prairie Community. Only one marked grave. About a dozen limestone rocks indicate there were other graves, but no markers for identification. Mrs. Ernest Marsh stated that she knew of some of the Gilstrap and Fogle families being buried in this cemetery. Sam Taite stated that before Dr. Gilstrap's death, he came out and checked on some of the graves, and made the remark that his parents were buried in this cemetery. A list of burials at this cemetery is on file at the Robertson County Library in Franklin (see Pin Oak Creek Cemetery burial list)
Stryker-Owen Cemetery This cemetery is west of Hwy 7 in the Cole's Branch community near Mulberry Creek, on land formerly owned by Travis Reagan. Cole's Branch is not far outside of Bald Prairie, on the left when heading towards Easterly. This cemetery is somewhere near County Road 471. This cemetery is on land owned by Colin Neyland in 2001.  Mr. Neyland has identified a hill on his property called "Stryker Hill" where he was told there may be some burials.  Nothing is apparent at the site today.  A list of burials at this cemetery is on file at the Robertson County Library in Franklin (see Stryker-Owen Cemetery burial list)
Willingham Cemetery C. Jones reports that Thomas W. Willingham was buried in an unknown location in Robertson County after his death on 7.12.1882.  (see Willingham Cemetery for partial burial list)
Wootan Wells Cemetery Ghost Towns Of Robertson County - Wootan Wells states that there once was a cemetery at Wootan Wells for people who became ill and died while visiting the spa/resort.  No cemetery is apparent today.
Unknown Cemetery #1 A cemetery that includes some Winkler and other burials is said to exist near the old Solon Merryman place in the East Boone Prairie community. It is located towards Owensville from the old Hayes School site.  This cemetery would not be far from the Archer-McLeroy Cemetery. (see Unknown Cemetery #1 Map)
Unknown Cemetery #2 Several graves are said to have been located along a creek on the Charlie Whatley place near the Henry Prairie community.  This cemetery was probably plowed under many years ago.
Unknown Cemetery #3 The site of an unknown cemetery is located at Unknown Cemetery #3.  When going from New Baden towards Easterly, this cemetery is off the highway on the right, across the railroad tracks, in some woods on land currently owned by Kerry Corn.  These woods back-up onto DeZavala Vineyards property.  No graves are apparent at the site today.  Kerry has always heard this site referred to as "the Old German Cemetery."  Brothers Basel and Jim Wheeless recall its existence during their youth.  There may be some "Mullins" buried here.
Unknown Cemetery #4 The TDOT Robertson County map identifies the location of a cemetery that is on the right when going from Wheelock towards Black Jack on Hwy. 391.  This cemetery is located somewhere after the curve in the road just past the Wheelock Cemetery and near where the road turns back to the left. No one in the area seems to know anything about this cemetery.  (see Unknown Cemetery #4 Map)
Unknown Cemetery #5 Long-time New Baden resident Inez Sweatt (Mrs. William) Ainsworth stated in 9.2002 that she had heard there may be some graves between New Baden and Camp Creek alongside Pfistner Road.  The general location of this burial location, which is identified on TopoZone Map, would be close to 31 01 11 N / - 96 23 29 W.  It would be on the left (when heading from New Baden towards Camp Creek), just after the last curve in Pfistner Road as it straightens out before it intersects with the dirt road leading towards Camp Creek. A metal gate marks the entrance to the land where these burials may be located. (see Unknown Cemetery #5)
Unknown Cemetery #6 This cemetery would be above and to the right of where 11th Street would intersect Austin Street in the African American section of Hearne.  According to Volunteer Robert Goff, "I have a relative who used to live near this area.  Her children would play here or nearby.  As they played in the dirt, they found hair from the men who were POWs buried in a cemetery there."  (see Unknown Cemetery #6 Map)
