The Hearne Chamber Of Commerce is distributing a new county map (cover).  It is based upon current Texas Department of Transportation information.  This map includes new county road names but doesn't include soon-to-be-updated cemeteries & historic marker information.  This folded paper map is available free-of-charge at:

Austin-Bergstrom Airport (AUS), Austin -- 100 miles

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Houston -- 110 miles

William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), Houston -- 130 miles

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) -- 150 miles

Bus

At least two Greyhound buses a day service routes between Houston and Dallas (each direction) that include stops in Calvert and Hearne. Each trip takes roughly three hours.  Bus service is also available to and from Austin (with transfers in Temple or Waco) for trips lasting roughly six hours.

Arrow Trailways has a scheduled route between Houston and Dallas that includes a stop in Hearne.

Train

There is no Amtrak or other passenger train service to or from Robertson County. The closest Amtrak stations are: Temple (TPL) -- 60 miles, McGregor (MCG) -- 70 miles, Taylor (TAY) -- 75 miles, Austin (AUS) -- 100 miles, Houston (HUS) -- 130 miles, Dallas (DAL) -- 150 miles.

Automobile

No public transportation is available within Robertson County. Given this and the county's rural nature, the best way to get around is in a vehicle. The closest car rental agencies are at the College Station airport.
