Sponsored by the Robertson County Historical Commission
118 West 4th Street  -  Hearne, Texas  77859

Background:

The Robertson County Historical Commission received an endowment from the Norman (“Nonie”) L. McCarver, Jr. Estate. It was understood that this fund would sponsor an appropriate event to honor Nonie’s devotion to Hearne and her history. Since one of Nonie’s accomplishments was winning a Young Authors Award given by the prestigious Southwest Historic Quarterly in his high school senior year , it seems only fitting to sponsor a contest that would reward a young budding writer.
