I am a descendant of Jesse Thomas and Clarissa Morris who are burried in Elliott Baptist Cemetery in Elliott, TX.

I visited the cemetery about 10 years ago looking for family information and found several Morris family tombstones. I don't believe the headstone data you now have online was available then, or perhaps not as extensive as it is now. I appreciate the effort and the progress that has been made to collect and post this information online. Thank you!

I can provide some update for three of the following Morris family entries presently listed on your web site for the Elliott Cemetery.

MORRIS, CLARICE, 11.16.1857 - 3.6.1914

MORRIS, J. T., ? - ?, CSA Company C 5th Mississippi Cavalry

MORRIS, WISTER, ? - ?

"Clarice Morris" is Clarissa Thompson Morris, wife of J. T Morris.

"J.T. Morris" is Jesse Thomas Morris, husband of Clarissa, and he served in company 'G' of the 5th MS Calvary ( I thought is was company 'C' also until I obtained his military records). His dob is October 10, 1844, and dod is July 15, 1921.

"Wister Morris" is Charles Wister Morris (from Family Bible), son of Jesse Thomas and Clarissa Morris. His dob is May 27, 1870. I don't know his date of death.

I recognize you may not want to post some of the above information, which is not actually on the head stone, however, I would appreciate correction of the Company letter to 'G' and addition of the dates I supplied.

Thanks,

Sammie R. Morris Jr.423 Hounds Run E.Mobile, AL 36608
