James Alton Green was the son of Cantrell Rufus Green and Lillie Mae Shook Green. He was married to Patricia Birdwell, and they had three children, Julia Ann, Daphne, and Audie Green. His second wife was Donna Savell.

James A Green, 66, of Franklin, died at home on Monday, March 12, 2007. Visitation is Thursday, March 15, from 5-7:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne. Graveside services are Friday, March 16, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Howard Van officiating. Internment will be at Savell Cemetery.

Survivors include are his wife Donna Savell Green, son Audie James Green and daughters, Daphnie and husband Terry Hanson, Brandy and husband Ronnie Endsley, Patricia and husband Donny Hamlin and Julie Green; brothers, Billy Joe Green, Ray Green, and Roy Green; sisters, Sarah and John Paul Thompson and Lois Vinson; 10 grandchildren: Kayla Green, Jamie Green, Jade Hanson, Dakota Hanson, CJ Watkins, Wiley Hamlin, Tessa Hamlin, Lane Hamlin, Trey Endsley, Cody Endsley, several nieces and nephews.
