The Civil War was a big part of our country's history. As part of that history,
the soldiers that served in this war are deserving of our attention.
Being one of the Southern States, most of the veterans who resided in Runnels
County belonged to the CSA or Confederate States Army.

Pearce
A great number of these sketches include Runnels County residents.
H.D. Pearce was once postmaster in Ballinger
and interviewed his customers who were survivors of the War between the
States.
