This plot is on Absalom and Elizabeth Varner
Woolams homestead.
Absalom Columbus was born the youngest son to
Bartholomew Woolam 1785 - 1845, South Carolina and Martha "Patsy"
Culbreath 1790 - 1845. Both died prior to 1846. Absalom was put
into the apprentice program in TN. in 1846. The 1850 census shows
him living with one of these families. He then moved out to Texas
and lived with his brother and his wife, Rev. John Culbreath Woolam
and Missouri Lockwood-Porter-Fowler-Woolam, who had just married in
1849. Missouri was married to Rev Littleton Fowler prior, and John
was one of his students. You can find documents online about the
marriage of John and Missouri and the fact that no kids where
produced.
In 1860 Absalom is in Texas with John,
Missouri and his sister Elizabeth Jane Woolam Watkins.
Cecil Lula was the daughter of Washington
Bartholomew and Bessie Norwood Woolam. She would be AC and
Elizabeth's great grand daughter, Washington was born to their
son John Columbus Rufus.
Mrs. Jones has a list of the children of
AC and Elizabeth that can be found on
findagrave.com . The children are buried in another cemetery in
the Hockley, TX area.
