Lulie Hughey Lane Scholarship

The Scholarship was named in honor of Mrs. A. V. Lane, who was President of the Texas Society when on 15 March 1915 she was Organizing President of John Cavet Chapter in Dallas. John Cavet, her ancestor, was the son of John and Margaret Cavet, born 1770, a private in the Pennsylvania Militia during the War of 1812. He married Jean Ann McKean about 1792. Their daughter, Margaret Cavet married John Hughey, from whom Mrs. Lane descended.

The Scholarship was endowed by her daughter.
