SouthEast Texas Genealogical & Historical Society

HISTORY:  On September 3, 1970 the first official meeting of the SouthEast Texas Genealogical & Historical Society was held in the Council Room of the Old City Hall in Nederland, Texas with an attendance of thirty-six persons.  Thus, was born, a society of persons interested and dedicated to the Genealogical & Historical investigation and preservation of information covering nearly all of Southeast Texas and beyond.

MEMBERSHIP:  A one year membership in SETGHS is $20.00 due and payable before May 1.  Members are entitled to a one year subscription to Yellowed Pages, published Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.  Checks and/or money orders for membership/subscriptions should be made payable to SouthEast Texas Genealogical and Historical, and should be mailed to the address at the bottom of this page, in care of the Director of Membership.

QUARTERLY:  The quarterly publication of the SETGHS is called the Yellowed Pages.  This publication has been produced every quarter since 1971.  Contributions of material and manuscripts to be published in Yellowed Pages are solicited and welcomed.  The Editorial Staff reserves the right to accept or reject data submitted and the right to edit material to be published.  Neither the Southeast Texas Genealogical and Historical Society nor the Yellowed Pages staff assumes responsibility for error of fact in material submitted by contributors.  The publication of any information is not necessarily an endorsement by the Society for views expressed or services rendered. Submitted material should be mailed to the address at the bottom of this page, in care of the Editor.  All material published in Yellowed Pages is copyrighted by the Southeast Texas Genealogical and Historical Society and may not be reproduced without prior written permission of the Society except in review with direct quotations of limited length.  Back issues of Yellowed Pages are available for purchase at $4.00 each (postage included).

MEETINGS:  Meetings are held each month on the first Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at The LDS Church , 7785 Weaver Street, Beaumont, Texas.  There usually is no meeting in the month a Fall or Spring Conference is scheduled .  See our monthly meeting notice page for details on upcoming events.

GENEALOGICAL LIBRARY: SETGHS is privileged to be affiliated with Tyrrell Historical Library.  Books and publications received and/or purchased by the Society are presented to Tyrrell Library, where they are available to the public.  Publications submitted for reviews should be mailed to the address at the bottom of this page, in care of the Book Review Editor.

GIFTS and DONATIONS: SETGHS welcomes donations of cash as well as publications.  Memorial donations of books and other publications are acknowledged.  Gifts to this non-profit organization are tax deductible.
