WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! The Sherman County, Texas web site needs volunteers. If you own or have access to any Sherman County reference books (such as census, cemetery, marriage, newspaper abstracts, etc.) and would be willing to do lookups for other Sherman County researchers, then please let me know.  Let me know what books you have and I will put you on the lookup page. It's a great to way to make genealogical contacts!!

There are many of the Sherman County books available that are not listed. If you own any Sherman County books, whether listed or not, and will do look-ups, please let me know. As you can see, volunteers are needed, and we can use more than one volunteer per book.

Feel free to request a look-up from the following resources. Please limit your request to one name per request. Please put Sherman County Lookup in the subject line of your request to insure the message is not overlooked. In the first line of the message please put the name of the book you are requesting the lookup in.

*Please try to have at least the township in which they resided. It would be even more helpful if you could look in a Census Index and provide the information found.

The USGenWeb Archives Project

is comprised of volunteers just like yourself who are willing to donate their existing transcribed documents or are willing to transcribe data, such as census records, marriage bonds, wills, obituaries, etc. This will help preserve the information stored in musty, old courthouses, basements, and attics that are on fading, crumbling brown paper. Won't you consider helping us out? We can use the technology of today and make the Internet work for Genealogy!
