[Note: The signature, above, is not that of an individual, but refers to the law firm of Hendricks & Smith, of Fort Worth. The paper, which follows this receipt, appears not to be an official paper. Rather, it appears to be an accumulation of notes made from court house records. It is, in part, difficult to decipher, and was perhaps hurriedly written by a representative of that law firm, although this has not been proved. The notes were probably inadvertently returned with the estate papers.]
"Distribution to Legatees of Wm G. Helms estate.
[In margin]: Heirs of W. G. Helms
[Reverse side. In ink]:
[Note: The wording of the above notes has been checked by three persons for accuracy. We think that the handwriting has been correctly interpreted, but nowhere were we able to find a definition of (1) caroter, or (2) abslutative on this reposeotetions. We therefore consulted an attorney at law, and were advised that despite what the man wrote, the interpretation of the first phrase could only be guardian ad litum," and the second phrase could only refer to an application for administration, as used here.]
