Guidelines for Students

1. Length: 300-400 Words

2. Title Page: Title of paper, Name, Grade

3. Body: Typing is preferred, but not required; double-spaced, pages numbered, references noted.

4. Essays will be judged on interest, historical accuracy and research.  Grammar, spelling, and legibility (if handwritten) will be considered.

5. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third place in each grade.

Awards (For each grade) 

   First place - $30.00
   Second Place - $25.00
   Third Place - $20.00

Instructions for Chapter Second Vice Presidents

1. Please submit 4 copies to Division Second Vice President postmarked by April 14, 2009

2. Please include a letter with your chapter name and number, your name and address, and list of the students for whom you are submitting essays.
