SOUTHEAST TEXAS Cousins United Due to the thousands of emails I have received desiring information on the families in southeast Texas since going online I have decided to start a regional gedcom project. I can't possibly answer the hundreds of emails I receive each day asking for information on families that are not my own and do justice to all. I tried to start with family gedcoms, then countywide gedcoms but because the families intermarried and crossed many county lines I finally gave in and combined them. The beginning gedcom file contains about 30,000 persons, "mostly" from the southeast Texas area with far reaching connections. Early in my almost 30 year old hobby of collecting cousins and ancestors I didn't always take the time to document my sources as I have now learned to do. I just copied down everything I could find... anywhere I could find it. The gedcom therefore contains many undocumented and unproven families from my 30 year family researching history and also "possible" lines of interest. It is my hope that as it is viewed, corrections & additions will be forthcoming. Please feel free to leave PostEm-Notes for individuals that you might have additional information on or to make note of corrections. It's not likely that I have additional information at the present so if you write for additional information and I have none you will probably not receive a reply. During the first few months after uploading the Regional Gedcom, I received hundreds of messages and I am slowly working my way through them and making additions and corrections. PLEASE....
