The information in the Local History-Genealogy Room is concentrated on Texas and the states which were part of the migration to Texas. Victoria County histories as well as surrounding county histories are featured. Books on Cemetery Surveys for Victoria are available. There are numerous "how to" books and other research books

CITY DIRECTORIES
We have City Directories at our Victoria Public Library for these years, only. 1900-1901, 1927, 1933, 1939, 1941, 1943-1944, 1945-1946, 1948-1949, 1950-1951, 1952-1953, 1955-1958, 1960-to the present.

SANBORN MAPS
The Sanborn Atlas Co. mapped just about every U.S. community containing at least 5,000 residents. The company flourished between 1850 and 1950. The Sanborn company created atlases for fire insurance purposes. The Victoria Public Library has Sanborn maps for the City of Victoria. They are from the early 1900's.
