The Van Zandt County Genealogical Research Group has compiled a collection of Van Zandt County Wedding articles taken from the county newspapers: the Canton Telephone, the Texas Telephone, the Canton Herald, the Grand Saline Sun and the Wills Point Chronicle. Some of them are just newspaper announcements but might be valuable to researchers. Many of these couples have not been listed in the Marriage Records Index. The couples may have gotten their license in another county or were left off the index. Often local couples would go elsewhere to marry and then spend the rest of their lives in this county. If you have a notice or an article about a wedding in your Van Zandt County family, a submission would be most welcome.
