Peyton G. Brewer and wife Keziah A. Tapley Brewer

Peyton Brewer was born in Fayette County, Alabama in 1831. He served in Co. F of the 42 Alabama Infantry, enlisting May 1862. He migrated to Van Zandt County in 1877, and received a pension in 1899 while a resident of Edom, Texas. He and Keziah A. Tapley were married at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Tapley, in Columbus, Mississippi in November 1851. They died within 12 days of each other (May 2 and May 14) in 1910 and are buried in at Edom Cemetery. ...........this photo is courtesy of Cleo McNeill of Edom, Texas, who is the granddaughter of Peyton and Keziah Brewer
