the Van Zandt County Genealogical Society

Home page

Our Mission: The main purpose of our Society is to foster and encourage interest in genealogy, provide county material for researchers, preserve county records, and to assist researchers in every way possible. The society's mailing address is: Van Zandt County Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 1388, Canton, TX 75103

Research Requests: We welcome Van Zandt County researchers and will be happy to help in any way that we can to obtain material on this county. Please check our Lookups page if you need any information from our publications. If you need more, we do simple research in the Library of Genealogy and Local History. We do this free of charge and only request that copying costs and postage be reimbursed. When you are requesting information, please be very specific as to what you need, such as a particular marriage record, census record, school record, etc.

Email Requests: We will be happy to answer all email requests for information on Van Zandt County and all researchers should always include mailing addresses in case needed.

Requests for "any and all information" will be forwarded as a query which will be printed in the Van Zandt County Genealogical Society's quarterly publication Our Heritage. The society has a membership of between 500 and 600 members annually so the queries will reach a large number of Van Zandt County researchers. Please include your mailing address with your request.

For information other than family history research, please email the Society direct and you will receive the assistance you require.
