Death of Uncle Brock Sides

Uncle Brock Sides of the Tundra community died last Saturday night after several days illness. Uncle Brock had many relatives and friends in this county, where he has lived most of his life. He served in the Confederate army throughout the Civil War and after the war returned to Van Zandt county and has resided in the Tundra community for many years. He raised a large family of children, among them being: Walter L. Sides of Canton, Elias Sides of the Tundra community, Mrs. J. H. Burns and Mrs. E. O. Cole of the Tundra community, Olly sides of Dallas and Miss Lillie Sides, who is one of Van Zandt county's teachers. He was a consistent member of the Baptist church and always took an active part in the work of the church. He will be buried in the Tundra community today. This good man will be missed.
