AGED RESIDENT PASSES AWAY TUESDAY AFTERNOON

Death of Joe Clark

Uncle Joe Clark, 90, a resident of the Owlet Green community for almost a half-century, and a veteran of the Civil War died Tuesday at his home there. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at Marvin Chapel.

Uncle Joe Clark was born in Virginia in 1842 and came to Van Zandt in the early days. His first wife died 26 years ago, and he later remarried and is survived by his second wife. One son and three daughters also survive. These are: Will Clark, Mrs. Levie Loper, Athens; Mrs. Cooper, Fort Worth and Mrs. Jim Lanfrey, Ben Wheeler; Rube and Clay Clark are surviving brothers. There are 28 surviving grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
