Isaac H. Veneable

"Rev. I.H. Venable, resident of Roddy, Van Zandt County, Texas, born in Alabama May 28, 1830, died Roddy, February 20, 1911, buried Sunday February 22nd. Came to Texas as a young man and had resided here ever since. He fought in the U.S. and Mexican war, on of the first to enlist in Confederate Army, fighting for four long years. Was Baptist preacher for 30 years before his death."......obituary from the Mabank Banner, March 2, 1911
