Van Zandt County Genealogical Society

Research Request Page

IMPORTANT NOTICE! Please do not send multiple email requests for researach assistance to multiple society volunteers! This practice causes a duplication of time and effort. It is a waste of everyone's time if several are working to help a researcher without being informed that others have been contacted for the same assistance.

Research Requests: We welcome Van Zandt County researchers and will be happy to help in any way that we can to obtain material on this county.

Please check our Lookups page if you need any information from our publications. It would be a good idea to do this first before writing or emailing a research request. You may find the information you want very quickly.

If you need more, we do simple research in the Library of Genealogy and Local History. We do this free of charge and only request that copying costs and postage be reimbursed.

When you are requesting information, please be VERY specific as to what you need, such as a particular marriage record, census record, school record, etc.

Email Requests: We will be happy to answer all email requests for information on Van Zandt County and all researchers should always include mailing addresses in case needed.

Requests for "any and all information" will always be forwarded as a query which will be printed in the Van Zandt County Genealogical Society's quarterly publication Our Heritage. The society has a membership of between 500 and 600 members annually so the queries will reach a large number of Van Zandt County researchers.

Please include your mailing address with ALL requests.

For information other than family history research, please email the Society direct and you will receive the assistance you require. If requesting a search, email Sibyl direct and we will help you if at all possible.
