"A Call To Arms"

by Sue Wilkinson

"A Call To Arms, Van Zandt Co., TX, World War I," compiled by Sue Wilkinson has just recently won a top award in the Texas State Genealogical Society's annual writing competition. It is a soft cover, spiral bound book containing approximately 70 pages. It contains an aphabetical listing of all the men registering for the draft in the county, by town; an alphabetical listing of the honored dead with a surname index of all the obituaries; and news about the men in training at Camp Travis and else where, and at war. This information was extracted and transcribed from the newspapers of Van Zandt County including the Canton Herald, the Grand Saline Sun and the Wills Point Chronicle.

This book may be purchased directly from Sue Wilkinson for $15 plus shipping. For further details, contact Sue at 903-865-1253.
