The photo was taken at the Penny farm near Canton, Van Zandt Co., TX. The people in the photo are: John Alexander Penny, his 4th wife Nancy Elmira (Mixon) Oliver-Penny. In this photo Nancy is pregnant with Timey Jewell Penny, their first child born on September 28, 1901. The three boys in the photo are Nancy's sons from her previous marriage to Jefferson F. Oliver. Nancy had 7 Olivers but we believe these three boys are the youngest: Wallace, Jay D. and Oscar. Nancy died between 1905 and 1906 and John Alexander Penny migrated to Oklahoma Territory in an area which became Oakdale, Washita Co., OK where he died in 1907.
John Alexander Penny (1839-1907) was my great-great-grandfather. I descend from his line through his first wife, Martha Jane Pruitt (1840-1873).
